Foremost
AARP Insurance Programs Your privacy on the Internet is important to us. Because there are parts of Foremost's AARP Insurance site where we ask you to provide us with certain types of personal information, we want you to know how we will use it. Foremost provides voluntary forms for you to request online estimates, update or change information on your policies, and file a claim. We will use the personal information that you give us to prepare a quote, issue a policy, update or change your policies, or handle a claim. We will not sell or rent that information to any other person or organization, but we may make it part of a reference source for future contact with you by us. As outlined in our privacy policy, if you purchase a policy, we may share some information with AARP and its subsidiary, AARP Services, Inc. In addition to using this information to measure member participation and satisfaction with the Program, AARP and AARP Services may use this information for other unrelated purposes, such as researching member needs and contacting you about AARP offerings and activities. AARP Services may also share this information with other AARP service providers in order, for example, to inform you of other AARP member benefits and services. In addition, the Financial Services Modernization Act (also known as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act) was signed into law in late 1999. The Act requires financial institutions, including insurance companies, to have written privacy policies that must be made known to customers. Our privacy notices are annually mailed to customers and are also available online.
If you do not want Foremost to share personal information with AARP and AARP Services for purposes unrelated to the Foremost AARP Insurance Programs, you can follow the "opt out" instructions in the Foremost privacy notice. Even if you "opt out" with Foremost, however, you may still receive mailings from AARP and other providers of AARP member benefits and services. If you are not an AARP member and you do not wish to receive AARP membership solicitations, you may instead call AARP directly at 1-888-687-2277. If you are already an AARP member, and you do not wish to receive promotional mailings from, or have your membership information shared with, other AARP service providers, you may similarly contact AARP directly at 1-888-687-2277. You can read about AARP's information collection and privacy practices on the AARP Web Site. For more information on the actual Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, you might check with your local library, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), or your congressman. You can reach the FTC toll-free at 1-877-FTC-Help (877-382-4357), or write them at FTC Consumer Response Center, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Room 130, Washington DC 20580. The GLBA text is available at www.ftc.gov under "Privacy Initiatives." If you have any additional questions about our privacy policy, please contact us by e-mail. |
